Annual Variety Programme

This is one of the most awaited event of the year usually conducted in the second term. The Annual Variety Programme is focused on portraying the social & cultural aspect of our country where children represent different states and their dance forms, enact mythological stories & other skits of moral values. With the help of professional choreographers and our teaching & non-teaching staff, our talented children have put up extraordinary performances year after year. Well dressed in their costumes and beautiful make up every child gets a chance to be on stage in some role or the other depending on their skills & enthusiasm shown. This ensures that all children learn to face the audience and present their talent is some form or the other.

Co-curricular & Vocational Activities

Outings & Trips

The school organises regular trips & outings to take a break from the monotonous routines & also for exposure students to the various parts of the country. Some trips are compulsory as a part of the academics while Long Tours are voluntary as per parents wish & affordability.

Recreational trips

Recreational trips are longer outstation trips to various tourist locations of India. These are optional and paid trips organised with stay in a 3 star hotel, with good healthy meals and site seeing itineraries.

Art-Craft

Art, is described, as, an unstructured and open-ended form of work that expresses emotions, feelings and vision, whereas craft is a form of work, involving the creation of physical objects, the use of hands and brain. Art, relies on artistic mind, whereas Craft is based on learned skills and techniques. Every year, Art & Craft Exhibition is arranged in our school and all the students are motivated to display their talent / potential & are enthusiastically participating. Students appear for State level drawing examinations like Elementary Grade and Intermediate Grade Every year. They also participate in national level competitions arranged by “Rangostav” and achieve success in the same competitions.

Designing & Model Making : (Unique at SMHS)

Basics of Designing & Model making of Various Structures – This activity fosters critical thinking and problem solving abilities in students .The program stresses on science and innovation through experimental learning which helps students to establish connection and build on what they know or have learned in an engaging educational environment. We encourage creativity of students by these unique activity.

Swimming

Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. It is one of the best sports, which builds strength and is an efficient way to burn calories and reduce weight. Most importantly swimming helps in improving coordination, balance, posture and flexibility. It also improves sleep and is one of the best exercise acquiring various skills in Swimming. Here in our school, we provide, this activity under the Expert guidance of a professional Coach.
